Enjoy the company of your fellow Romanians and their international friends while listening to beautiful Romanian and international music. Dance "Brasoveanca", Hora, Perinita, Calusarii, and Braul (and Penguins' dance if you want it) and later in the evening disco/techno/trance. Plenty of free musical dedications … just bring the music you like in MP3 format and the dedication text/note or choose a song from the DJ's list. Not to mention the cool raffle prizes (including a brand new Shark) and the potentially deadly-hilarious karaoke moments!

Play light soccer (co-ed, all ages, mini-cup tournament, 4-6 player teams, NO cleats), bocce, croquet, badminton, volleyball, basketball, frisbee, hide-and-seek in the forest and many more games - or bring your own.

BRING EVERYTHING THAT YOU WOULD NORMALLY TAKE WITH YOU TO A PICNIC:
Food, drinks, ice, coolers, charcoal, cutlery, napkins, chairs, sun screen, instant coffee, sunglasses, magazines, sport shoes, cameras, binoculars, and all those other 1,000+ articles without which no picnic is really a picnic.

Although there will be free food and drinks, they may not last long, depending on the number of participants.
You are strongly encouraged to bring your own preferred dishes and drinks in quantities large enough to keep you and your friends in a good mood until midnight
and something extra for the "common cause" (some guests may not be able to bring/cook food).
Please treat the "common cause" as you would treat yourself (:-).

Use the large grill - available to everyone (don't forget to bring charcoal for your own use) or the indoor kitchen stove (for coffee, clatite, or anything else you want to cook - bring all the utensils you may need).

Or bring a portable charcoal or gas grill if you want. A few picnic tables/benches are available, but it would be a good idea to bring your own picnic chairs, foldable tables, gazebo, tents, screens, just in case (:-).

There will be a large refrigerator in the kitchen available to anyone who needs it, though your own cooler with plenty of ice will keep you in control, your beer cold, and your mind at peace.

The Century III mall is 10 minutes from the picnic place - if you forgot something important to bring from home, you may still have a way to save the day (:-).

PLEASE VOLUNTEER 30 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME!

Volunteer 30 minutes to: set up and maintain/manage the audio system, parking directions, admission tickets, co-DJs (two), keep an eye on area's trash cans, maintain hygienic conditions for the free food, manage the free drinks, set up the indoor evening dance ring, distribute raffle tickets, maintain order in the kitchen (:-), and other 100 more tasks.

WITHOUT YOUR HELP, THE NINE VOLUNTEERS WHO SIGNED UP SO FAR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAVE THE PICNIC. TASKS ARE EASY, JUST 30 MINUTES AT A TIME TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS OK.

We all like to have many friends and this is a wonderful opportunity to make a few new ones! Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself whenever you see someone you don't know. Keep in mind that some guests might be newly arrived in Pittsburgh and without local aquaintances ... be the first one to break the ice, most likely you'll make a new friend instantly.

Some of you will come as part of a group - you are welcome to set up your own group area if you want (there is plenty of room on the lawns) but please see the note above (:-).

Please consider making a donation - it helps cover part of the costs for this event, future ones, and the purchase of traditional costumes for the newly created (you are welcome to join it anytime!) Pittsburgh Romanian Dance Group.
